England booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Norway 2-1 after extra time in an entertaining quarter-final clash at Hard Rock Stadium.
Norway struck first in the 36th minute when Andreas Schjelderup found the back of the net to hand the Scandinavian side a deserved lead after a disciplined first-half display.
However, England responded just before the interval as Jude Bellingham produced the equaliser on the stroke of half-time to send the teams into the break level at 1-1.
Both sides created chances after the restart but failed to find the breakthrough in regulation time, forcing the contest into an additional 30 minutes.
England eventually found the decisive goal in extra time to complete the comeback and seal a hard-fought victory, ending Norway’s impressive World Cup campaign.
The Three Lions now advance to the semi-finals, where they will face the winner of the quarter-final clash between Argentina and Switzerland as they continue their pursuit of World Cup glory.
