The Eezzy Group Foundation has presented a cheque for GH¢800,000 to Team Ghana to support the country’s preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
The presentation ceremony was held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra and brought together officials from the sports fraternity as Ghana intensifies preparations for the prestigious multi-sport event.
Team Ghana is expected to send 40 athletes to the Games, with competitors set to participate in athletics, boxing, swimming, cycling, weightlifting, judo and para sports.
Speaking at the presentation, Chief Executive Officer of the Eezzy Group and Foundation, Mohammed Raii, said the organization was committed to supporting Ghanaian sports and ensuring the nation’s athletes receive the backing needed to succeed on the international stage.
“I love to do things the easy way, and I want the whole world to know about the success of Team Ghana,” Raii said.
The donation is expected to ease some of the financial burden associated with the team’s preparations and participation in the Games, while boosting athletes’ morale as they aim to win medals and make Ghana proud in Glasgow.
