The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has received a Nissan pickup truck, 20 motorcycles and an agricultural tractor from the EEZZY Group Foundation to support preparations for the 42nd National Farmers' Day celebrations scheduled for December 4, 2026.

The items were presented to the Ministry in Accra on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, as part of efforts to support government's Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda and enhance this year's National Farmers' Day awards.

Receiving the donation, Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, commended the Foundation for supporting the country's agricultural sector and announced that this year's National Best Farmer will receive one of the most attractive reward packages in the history of the awards.

"This year's National Best Farmer will receive a brand-new Nissan pickup truck, a GH¢1.2 million cash prize, a brand-new agricultural tractor and assorted modern farm inputs and equipment," he disclosed.

Opoku further revealed that the Ministry has secured additional support from other corporate organisations, including two pickup trucks and a 50-seater bus, which will be presented to the Best Senior High School in Practical Agriculture.

He used the occasion to appeal to the private sector, development partners and philanthropists to support this year's Farmers' Day celebration, assuring that all contributions would be managed transparently.

"We encourage businesses, institutions and individuals to partner with us to make this year's Farmers' Day a success. Every donation will be distributed transparently to deserving beneficiaries," he said.

The Minister also announced that the National Farmers' Day Planning Committee, chaired by Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo, will soon publish official bank account details to enable individuals and organisations to make financial contributions towards the celebration.

Presenting the items, Chief Executive Officer of the EEZZY Group Foundation, Mohammed Raii, said the donation reflects the Foundation's commitment to supporting Ghana's agricultural transformation and recognising the critical role farmers play in national development.

"Agriculture is life. Without agriculture, there is no nation and no future. Supporting our farmers means supporting every Ghanaian family," Raii stated.

He also explained that the Foundation's contribution aligns with President John Dramani Mahama's Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda, which seeks to modernise agriculture, improve productivity, create employment and strengthen food security across the country.

Raii also expressed appreciation to Samson Deen for facilitating the partnership between the Foundation and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

"I would like to sincerely thank Samson Deen for giving us the opportunity to contribute to this important national cause," he said.

The Foundation's donation includes one Nissan pickup truck to be awarded to the National Best Farmer, 20 motorcycles to support agricultural operations and Farmers' Day activities, as well as a modern agricultural tractor with accessories to promote mechanised farming.
