The Obuasi Len Clay Stadium has been selected to host the 2026 X1 Division One League (DOL) Super Cup, which will take place from August 10 to 18, marking another major football event for the Ashanti Region.
Obuasi was chosen from a shortlist of venues, reflecting the organisers’ commitment to rotating competitions across the country while providing clubs and supporters with a top-class match-day experience at one of Ghana’s premier football venues.
The tournament, regarded as the flagship competition for Ghana’s second-tier league, will feature eight of the best-performing clubs from the three Division One League zones competing for the coveted title.
Representing Zone One are Debibi United and Tamale City, while FC AshantiGold and Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs qualified from Zone Two. Port City FC and Semper Fi FC will represent Zone Three, with Attram De Visser SC and Nsuopon Fidelity FC earning places as the two best third-placed teams.
The clubs will be drawn into two groups of four, with the top teams advancing to the knockout stage.
The choice of Obuasi is expected to boost local interest, particularly with FC AshantiGold participating, while offering fans the chance to watch some of Ghana’s brightest emerging football talents.
The 2026 edition also marks the beginning of the competition’s new era under a five-year headline sponsorship agreement with X1 Energy Drink.
