Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Port City FC have officially unveiled experienced midfielder Gideon Waja as one of their latest additions ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The former WAFA SC captain joins the club after a stint with Hamilton United in Canada, returning to Ghanaian football as Port City continue to strengthen their squad for their maiden campaign in the top flight.
Waja arrives with a wealth of experience, having previously featured for Major League Soccer side Toronto FC and Kenyan giants AFC Leopards before continuing his career in Canada.
The midfielder built a strong reputation during his time at WAFA, where he captained the Sogakope-based club and established himself as one of the Ghana Premier League’s reliable midfielders.
His arrival is expected to bring leadership, composure and experience to the Port City FC midfield as the club prepares for the challenges of life in the Ghana Premier League.
Waja was also a member of the Black Galaxies squad that lifted the 2017 WAFU Zone B Championship, adding international pedigree to the newly promoted side.
Port City FC have remained active in the transfer market since sealing promotion and will be hoping the experienced midfielder plays a key role in helping the club establish itself in the Ghana Premier League.
