Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has expressed solidarity with victims of the recent devastating floods in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The floods, caused by poor drainage systems, have led to significant destruction and hardship for many residents while the 2026 FIFA World Cup is ongoing.
In a touching statement, the Portuguese tactician said: “I want to express our deepest solidarity with the victims of the floods in Accra.”
Queiroz’s message comes as Ghana prepare for their Round of 32 clash against Colombia on Saturday, July 4.
Despite the team’s focus on the important knockout game, the coach took time to acknowledge the suffering back home. The Black Stars and the entire Ghanaian football fraternity continue to stand with those affected by the floods.
