I never believed love could make me lose everything until it happened to me.

Last year, a man walked into the electronics shop where I worked as a sales attendant. The moment I saw him, I was attracted to him.

He came to buy a television and asked about the prices of other items before leaving.

I was hoping he would ask for my number, but he didn’t. Instead, I took the number he left on his receipt and called him later, telling him he could contact me anytime he wanted to buy electronics.

From there, we started talking regularly. One day, he asked me to deliver a phone to him because he was too busy to come to the shop. The phone cost GH¢2,500, but he didn’t pay.

I was too shy to ask for the money, so I paid the shop from my own pocket. He later sent me GH¢1,500 and promised to pay the rest, but I told him not to worry about it.

After that, we became even closer. He invited me to his house, we became intimate, and for two months, I believed we were in a relationship, even though he never asked me to be his girlfriend.

Then he started asking questions about how the stock was managed at my workplace. After learning how it worked, he convinced me to secretly bring him phones and other gadgets so he could sell them and pay me later. Because I trusted him, I agreed.

For three months, I kept taking items from the shop. The value of the missing stock eventually reached GH¢101,550. When my boss discovered the shortage, the cashier exposed me.

I begged the man to pay for the items, but he kept asking for more time. Instead, I was arrested, spent three weeks in police custody, lost my job, and my family had to raise money to settle the matter.

Even after everything, I still defended him because I loved him. Instead of helping me, he continued sleeping with me until one day, he told me he no longer wanted me in his life. He said he had another woman and claimed he never forced me to do anything for him.

Today, I have lost my job, my family’s trust, and a huge amount of money because of someone who simply walked away.

Is there any legal way I can recover the money?
