Black Stars goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi believes Carlos Queiroz should remain in charge of the national team following Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Queiroz, who took charge of the Black Stars in March on a short-term contract, guided Ghana to the Round of 32 before their elimination by Colombia.

Ati-Zigi admitted he would be happy to continue working under the experienced Portuguese tactician but acknowledged that the final decision rests with the Ghana Football Association.

“It’ll be nice to have Carlos Queiroz stay. But ultimately it’s the decision of the Black Stars management.”

The goalkeeper was part of the squad that reached the knockout stage for the first time since 2010, with the team recording one win, one draw and two defeats during the tournament.

Ati-Zigi has worked under several national team coaches since making his Black Stars debut in 2018 and remains one of the senior figures within the squad after earning more than 30 international caps.

Queiroz is widely expected to extend his stay with Ghana as the Black Stars begin preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the next phase of their rebuilding process.
