Ghana’s undefeated boxer John Abaja Laryea will face the toughest challenge of his professional career when he takes on Argentina’s Adrian Maximiliano Robledo in Buenos Aires on August 15, 2026.

Laryea, a two-time WBO Africa Featherweight champion, heads into the bout with an unbeaten record of 17 wins, no defeats and one draw, while Robledo boasts an impressive record of 13 victories and one loss.

The contest is expected to be one of the most competitive fights of Laryea’s career, with boxing analysts predicting an exciting encounter between two highly rated featherweights. However, the Ghanaian will have to overcome the challenge of fighting away from home in unfamiliar surroundings against a local favourite.

Laryea has previously demonstrated his ability to perform on the international stage, recording a victory in the United States and delivering a memorable display against fellow Ghanaian Holy Dorgbetor in their IBF African championship contest.

The Ghanaian boxer is jointly managed by Baby Jet Promotions and Bronx Boxing Promotions under the leadership of Samuel Anim Addo and veteran trainer Carl Lokko.

Victory in Argentina would strengthen Laryea’s credentials and could move him closer to securing a shot at a world featherweight title.
