German-born Ghanaian forward Moritz-Broni Kwarteng has completed a return to German Bundesliga 2 side FC Magdeburg after signing a permanent deal during the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old rejoins the club following a spell with Bundesliga outfit VfL Bochum, where injuries and a loan move to Fortuna Düsseldorf limited his opportunities.
Kwarteng expressed his delight at returning to Magdeburg, describing his previous stint with the club as the most successful period of his career despite being his shortest.
“In football, they often say you meet twice in life. For me, that’s definitely true now. Just the thought of being back home in Magdeburg makes me incredibly happy,” he said.
The attacker also recalled the club’s promotion to the third tier and its successful fight to remain in Bundesliga 2, adding that his strong relationship with the club and its supporters made the decision to return an easy one.
Kwarteng thanked everyone involved in completing the transfer and said he was eager to play again in front of the Magdeburg faithful at the Avnet Arena.
The Ghanaian forward will wear the club’s iconic number 10 jersey during the 2026/27 season.
