New Edubiase United have dismissed speculation over the club’s future, insisting they have no intention of selling the Division One League outfit despite recent reports linking the former Premier League side with a possible takeover.

The rumours suggested the club’s hierarchy had grown frustrated with the Ghana football landscape and was considering walking away after years in the lower tier. There were also claims that New Edubiase had developed an uneasy relationship with the Ghana Football Association.

However, board member Joe Salam Abubakar has rubbished those reports, stressing that the club remains fully committed to its football project and has never been at odds with the GFA.

“We are not anti-GFA. We have never positioned ourselves against the Ghana Football Association, and it is unfortunate that such a label is being attached to this club,” he said.

Abubakar also clarified that the club remains under the ownership of the founding family, who are prepared to continue funding its activities despite the recent speculation.

“The reports that New Edubiase United is for sale are not true. The family has taken a decision to continue running and financing the club ourselves. We have not put the club on the market,” he explained.

According to him, the club’s long-term objective remains unchanged, with player development continuing to be the cornerstone of the project.

“New Edubiase United has always stood for talent development and providing opportunities for young players. That vision has not changed. We remain committed to investing in the club and helping young players achieve their dreams.”

The club official further appealed to supporters to ignore the rumours, insisting New Edubiase remain focused on building a stronger future.

Founded in 2007, the club enjoyed several seasons in the Ghana Premier League and famously won the 2012 MTN FA Cup, earning a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.
