Prudential Life Insurance Ghana will officially launch the seventh edition of PRURide on Tuesday, July 14, at the University of Ghana Stadium VIP Room under the theme, “Pedal for Health. Ride for a Greener Future.”
The annual cycling initiative, scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., aims to promote healthy living, environmental sustainability and the continued growth of cycling in Ghana.
Since its inception, PRURide has evolved into one of the country’s flagship cycling events, encouraging individuals, families and cycling enthusiasts to embrace cycling as a healthier lifestyle while contributing to a cleaner environment through reduced carbon emissions.
The launch will bring together stakeholders from the sporting community, corporate Ghana, government agencies, cycling clubs, development partners, the media and health advocates. Organizers will also unveil this year’s programme, registration details, partnership opportunities and activities leading to the main event in September.
Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, Jane Dornukuor Mingle, described PRURide as more than a cycling event, saying it has grown into a movement that promotes healthier lifestyles, cleaner air and stronger communities.
President of the Ghana Cycling Federation, Mohammed Baadae Sahnoon Esq, praised Prudential Life for its sustained support, describing the partnership as instrumental to the event’s success over the past seven editions.
He expressed optimism that the collaboration would help elevate PRURide into a UCI Calendar ranking event, providing Ghanaian cyclists with opportunities to earn international ranking points while positioning Ghana as a leading cycling destination on the African continent.
