Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians for their unwavering support following the national team’s exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, promising that the team will learn from the disappointment and return stronger.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Partey admitted Ghana’s World Cup campaign did not end as the players had hoped despite their belief that they were capable of achieving more.

The experienced midfielder described representing Ghana on football’s biggest stage as one of the greatest honours of his career, saying he gave everything whenever he wore the national jersey.

Partey also paid tribute to Ghanaian fans, thanking them for their passion, belief and steadfast support throughout the tournament. He said the encouragement from supporters never went unnoticed and that he felt their backing every step of the team’s journey.

Reflecting on the setback, the 33-year-old acknowledged that football can be cruel but stressed that difficult moments are part of the game.

He assured supporters that the Black Stars would take valuable lessons from the World Cup campaign, continue working hard and come back stronger in future competitions.

Ghana’s World Cup journey ended in the Round of 32 after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Colombia.
