According to a report by adomonline.com, on July 16, 2026, the crash involved a cargo truck transporting tomatoes, a passenger bus, and a fuel tanker that was not carrying fuel at the time of the incident.

While the exact cause remains unclear, eyewitnesses told reporters the accident was triggered by a wrongful overtaking, resulting in a head‑on collision.
