Ghana’s national amateur boxing team, the Black Bombers, have departed for Belfast, Northern Ireland, to begin a pre-Commonwealth Games training camp ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The training programme is expected to provide the boxers with valuable international exposure and intensive preparations as they fine-tune their skills for one of the biggest multi-sport events on the global calendar.

The squad will use the camp to improve fitness, sharpen tactics and engage in high-level sparring sessions before travelling to Scotland for the Games.

The Black Bombers will carry Ghana’s hopes in boxing at the Commonwealth Games, where they will compete against some of the best amateur fighters from across the Commonwealth.

Team officials remain confident the Belfast camp will strengthen the boxers’ readiness and boost their chances of delivering impressive performances as Ghana targets medals in Glasgow later this year.
