Ghana’s Black Queens will continue their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with two international friendly matches against Nigeria and Malawi.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the fixtures following the Black Queens’ 1-0 victory over Ivory Coast in a friendly played on Tuesday. Ghana will face continental rivals Nigeria on Saturday, July 18, before taking on Malawi five days later on July 23.

The upcoming matches are expected to provide head coach Kim Lars Björkegren with another opportunity to assess his squad and fine-tune tactics ahead of the continental tournament.

The Black Queens head into the fixtures with renewed confidence after Sharon Sampson’s second-half strike secured victory over the Ivorians, ending the team’s latest outing on a positive note.
