The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has invited 108 promising young footballers to a nationwide screening exercise as preparations intensify for the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan, scheduled for October 2026.

The exercise will take place at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, where the players will be assessed by the national technical team before a final squad is selected for the tournament.

The invited players were identified through the GFA’s extensive scouting network after impressive performances at the Elite U-15 Inter-Regional Championship, GFA Elite Football Academies, Colts Leagues, Inter-Schools competitions and the Division Three League.

To ensure a thorough evaluation, the players have been divided into three batches of 36. The first group reported to camp on Friday, July 17, and will remain until Tuesday, July 21, under the supervision of Head Coach Salifu Fatawu and his technical staff.

The second batch will undergo screening from July 21 to July 25, while the final group will begin its five-day assessment on July 25.

Following the exercise, the technical team will select the standout performers, who will regroup on August 9 to begin intensive preparations for the historic FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan.

The screening exercise forms part of the GFA’s long-term talent development strategy aimed at nurturing the country’s next generation of football stars.
