Senior Adviser to the Minister for Sports, Betty Krosbi Mensah, has praised the Eezzy Group Foundation for its GHS800,000 sponsorship package to support Team Ghana ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The cheque was presented during Team Ghana’s official unveiling ceremony at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Tuesday. The event was attended by officials of the Commonwealth Games Association-Ghana, corporate partners, coaches and athletes who will represent the country in Scotland.

Representing the Minister for Sports, Mensah described the donation as a timely intervention that demonstrates the importance of private sector investment in sports.

She urged the athletes to remain disciplined and focused as they prepare for the Games, expressing confidence in their ability to win medals for Ghana.

The Eezzy Group Foundation said the sponsorship forms part of its commitment to youth development and national pride. According to the foundation, the funds will support training camps, logistics, equipment, medical care and athlete welfare.

The Commonwealth Games Association-Ghana welcomed the donation, describing it as timely and crucial, while encouraging more corporate organizations to support Team Ghana’s preparations.

Ghana will compete with 40 athletes across nine sports at the Glasgow Games.
