The Ghana Football Association has announced Gold Fields Ghana Limited as the new headline sponsor of the Ghana Women’s Premier League, ushering in a new era for the country’s top-flight women’s competition.
The agreement marks a major boost for women’s football in Ghana, with the GFA describing the partnership as a significant investment that will support the continued growth and development of the league.
Gold Fields takes over from Malta Guinness, whose sponsorship played an important role in promoting the Women’s Premier League over the past few seasons. The new partnership is expected to inject fresh energy into the competition as clubs prepare for the upcoming campaign.
According to the GFA, the collaboration reflects its commitment to strengthening the Women’s Premier League through strategic partnerships aimed at improving the competition’s visibility, competitiveness and long-term sustainability.
The Football Association also expressed its appreciation to Gold Fields Ghana Limited for backing women’s football and welcomed the company as one of its newest partners.
The GFA added that details of the sponsorship package, the unveiling of the league’s new identity and plans for the implementation of the partnership will be announced in the coming weeks.
