Long-serving Hearts of Oak board member Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has called for sweeping changes at the club, insisting the Phobians need a new direction after another disappointing campaign.

The former Hearts Management Chairman and ex-Ghana Football Association chairman believes the club’s leadership has already decided to part ways with the previous technical team as preparations begin for a fresh start ahead of the new season.

According to Nyaho-Tamakloe, Hearts need a coach capable of transforming the mentality of the players, particularly in front of goal, if the club is to return to competing for major honours.

“The Board of Directors has decided to let the former coach go, and they are making preparations for a new coach to come. We want a coach who will teach the boys how to be hungry for goals,” he said.

The veteran football administrator also expressed disappointment with the team’s performances, arguing that Hearts failed to meet the standards expected of one of Ghana’s most successful clubs.

“Most of our so-called wins were very minimal. Apart from that, we either drew or lost. How we did not get to the level we wanted is surprising to some of us,” he added.

Nyaho-Tamakloe has remained one of Hearts of Oak’s influential figures for decades, having first joined the club’s board in the 1980s before serving as Management Chairman. He continues to play a role on the board as the Phobians seek to rebuild following another difficult season.
